We then headed over to Florida for our pre-Christmas visit.
The weather was essentially very kind to us, with some nice warm weather whilst there.
Beautiful skies during the winter months. This was looking out over the bay looking from Clearwater to Tampa.
We had a few days getting some work done on the house there – some garden landscaping, exterior electrics, some other outdoor lighting etc. Interesting our outdoor lighting specialist is a Dutch guy, married to an English woman – gave us plenty to talk about.
We also headed off to Birmingham again, staying at the Hampton Inn again. Had dinner with Matthew and Claire as they had just recently got engaged, dinner with them again on the Friday, as well as Jake and Brianna, Brianna’s daughter Mia, Jeanie and Ben. Betsy got to see the 2 granddaughters as well which I know she was pleased with.
i got to go to the Barber motor museum in Birmingham. I went alone and really enjoyed it. A real trip of nostalgia and wanna-be for me. It’s really a spectacular collection, and worth the $16 entrance fee. I wish I had slightly longer, but glad I went.
And some amazing cars !
Saw Linda down at her place, and had lunch together at an English pub. We called cousin Rita from the pub so she and Linda could chat which was nice.
Jake and Brianna came down to stay for a few days, with Mia. We met them early on the Friday at Tampa airport, and took them to eat one or two places, ate outside, did some swimming etc.
