Sept 2021 – Winchester Cathedral

Next up for us was a trip down to Winchester, to go and see the cathedral. Originally, we had only booked for afternoon tea, but seemed they had capacity to take some extras. I’m glad we went in.

It’s not too far a drive from our home, maybe 1.5 hours, so again, quite achievable for a trip out.

Afternoon tea was ‘interesting’ 😂😂. I expected something a little more ‘classical’ in terms of location and service, but it was sort of in a kind of small glass auditorium, and let’s say our service was ‘cute’ ? If the sickly-looking plant on our table was any reflection on what to expect, we should have thought carefully about it 😂😂

We wandered around, then found we could buy a ticket to go inside. I’m glad we did. There was a kind of floral exhibition going on, but we got to see the tomb of Jane Austen – I wasn’t aware she was in there in all honesty. But the place looked great.
